Thomas Jeker (Electronics, Arrangements), Basel
Works as a musician and composer with different choreographers for dance pieces and also creates music for theatre and movies. His work is a mixture of acoustic and electronic sounds, groovy and ambient structures and free improvised music. As a multi-instrumentalist, he plays the bass, the guitar and the shakuhachi. His music has been performed in the Fringe Festival Philadelphia, the Festival Cambalache Buenos Aires, the Kunstenfestival des Arts Brussels, the Théâtre de la Ville Paris and others. Together with Christian Lichtenberg he founded the visual-sound ensemble “equal” in 2006.
Florian Arbenz (Drums), Basel
Tours, Concerts and CD-Productions as bandleader with the New Jazz Trio, Kirk Lightsey, Greg Osby, Glenn Ferris, Wofgang Puschnig, Bennie Maupin, Matthieu Michel, Claudio Pontiggia a.o. As a classical musician he performed as a percussionist at various concerts and festivals (Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, Basler Musik Forum, WDR Musiksommer), among others with Heinz Holliger, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Peter Eötvös and Paul Sacher. In addition there have been many solo concerts in Europe and South America. In 2000, Florian Arbenz received the European Culture Prize.
Julia Schröder (Baroque Violin), Basel
Concertmaster of the Kammerorchester Basel, soloist with the
Sinfonieorchester Basel and the Camerata Stuttgart. Since 2006 she is a musical partner of Cecilia Bartoli with who she tours Europe as the soloist and leader of the Kammerorchester Basel. Julia Schröder is equally at home in classical music, gipsy jazz, free improvisation and early music. She's a frequent guest at the chamber music festivals in Davos, Gstaad, Boswil, Luxembourg, Middlebourg, Cologn and Amsterdam and her chamber music partners include the Trio Parnassus, Gérard Wyss and Gidon Kremer. Ada Meinich (Baroque Viola), Norway
The Norwegian violinist and violist studied with Tabea Zimmermann and Veronika Hagen in Berlin and Salzburg and is a permanent extra player with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. She also plays with the Orchestra Mozart Bologna, directed by Claudio Abbado and was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. Enthousiastic chamber music player and performances at festivals in Stavanger, Trondheim, Kronberg a.o.
Stephanie Meyer (Baroque Violoncello), Montreal
Studies with Thomas Demenga and Christoph Coin at the Music Academy Basel, participation at various master classes and performances at renowned festivals. She performed at the Schleswig Holstein Festival on the first desk with Mstislav Rostropowitch, in the Capella Barca with Andras Schiff, Epoca Barocca with Sergio Azzolini, at the Davos- and Lucerne Festivals. She is a frequent guest at the Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music Festival. Prize winner at various competitions like the 31. Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Young Artist's competition in 2001 where she won second prize and the special prize of the jury. Member of the Camerata Bern and the La Cetra Baroque orchestra and since October 2006 solo cellist with the Kammerakademie Potsdam/Ensemble Oriol Berlin under the direction of Sergio Azzolini and Michael Sanderling.
Giorgio Paronuzzi (Musical Direction Baroque Ensemble, Harpsichord), Basel
Has been working for several years as a harpsichordist and musical assistant of René Jacobs and as such participates in major productions in Brussels, Paris, Berlin, Vienna a.o. Teaches at the Hochschule für Alte Musik der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
